Description

This is a detached villa dating from the 1820s, located on Totnes Road in Paignton. The villa is rendered and has a turnerised slate roof, hipped at the right end and gabled at the left, with stacks featuring rendered shafts and old chimney pots. It is oriented with its side facing the road. The building follows a single-depth plan, with three rooms and later 20th-century additions to the rear.

The front facade has an asymmetrical arrangement of four windows. Deep eaves are supported by paired moulded brackets. The front door, positioned to the left of the centre, is a two-leaf design with half-glazed panels and an ogival fanlight with margin panes. Three ground-floor French windows, also with margin panes and similarly-glazed ogival heads, are present. A verandah extends across the front, featuring a glazed roof with a scalloped fascia supported by cast-iron columns. Four first-floor casement windows match the style of the ground floor. A single, similar first-floor window is located on the left return facing the road. The rear elevation incorporates 20th-century timber casement windows.

Inside, original features remain, including joinery, a stick baluster staircase, and a 19th-century chimney-piece. A garden wall with spearhead railings extends to the front left.
