Description

12 and 14 Fisher Street is a house that has been divided into two separate units, with No. 14 currently disused and boarded up. The building likely dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The exterior is stuccoed, and No. 12 has a blocked-out right gable end that is visible above the roofline of No. 10. The house features a steeply-pitched slate roof with gabled ends, a left end stack with a rendered shaft, and a rear right lateral stack with a rendered shaft and two old pots, one of which is tiered.

The building is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has two windows on the ground floor and four on the first floor. No. 12 is double-fronted with an entrance to the left of centre, featuring a recessed six-panel door with fielded upper panels and a fanlight with spoke glazing bars. A small 20th-century timber gabled porch hood is present. There are two windows to the left of the door and one to the right, along with a small 20th-century added window. The first floor has four windows, all of which are early 19th-century 12-pane sashes. No. 14's openings are all boarded up, but the recessed door retains an early 19th-century fanlight.

Access to the interior was not possible at the time of the survey, but it is likely to contain historic features of interest, and the roof construction may also be noteworthy.
