Description

Ivy Cottage is a small house that dates from the 18th century or earlier and was extended and remodeled in the 1980s. It is constructed of plastered cob and stone and features a thatched roof that is half-hipped at both ends. The overall layout is T-shaped, with the house positioned high above the road. The main block is of single depth and has a large projecting stack at the right end, along with a rear wing added in the 1980s that is set at right angles to the main structure.

The exterior has a tall two-window front facing the road, with the thatch eaves forming an eyebrow over the single first-floor window. There are two ground-floor windows, all fitted with small-pane timber casements. The left side of the house has a two-light first-floor casement and a 20th-century outshut with a lean-to roof. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
