Description

472 and 474 Babbacombe Road are a pair of villas built between 1845 and 1855. They have a plastered exterior and a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with an axial stack featuring a rendered shaft. The villas are rectangular in shape with entrances at the ends.

The buildings are two storeys tall and have deep eaves supported by paired moulded eaves brackets. The left and right corners are accentuated with rusticated quoins, and there is an eaves band along the top. The front is symmetrical with four windows, all featuring moulded architraves and 12-pane sash glazing. The right gable end is designed to resemble a pediment. There is a 20th-century gabled porch, which includes one 12-pane sash window on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected but may still have interesting features.
