Description
106 and 108 Molesworth Road are a pair of villas built in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of stucco with stucco detailing and feature dry slate hipped roofs with projecting eaves and a central rendered stack. The villas have a double-depth plan, with two rooms at the front and entrance bays set back on the left and right sides.
The buildings are two storeys high and have a symmetrical four-window front, with pilasters flanking the entrance bays. The windows are horned sashes with glazing bars, and the ground-floor windows are canted bays topped with a moulded entablature. The tripartite doorways are set under segmental arches, with the doorway of No. 106 on the right featuring original margin glazing and a panelled door, all framed by a pedimented doorcase with consoles and pilasters.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. This complete semi-detached pair of villas exemplifies the Classical architectural tradition.
