Description

This is an unequal pair of villas dating from the mid-19th century, located on the west side of Molesworth Road in Stoke, Plymouth. The villas are constructed of stucco and have dry slate hipped roofs with modillion cornices. Stuccoed lateral stacks, some paired with moulded cornices, are also present. The buildings follow a double-depth plan.

They are two storeys high and have an irregular facade. Most of the windows are original hornless sashes, or sashes from the late 19th century, with some featuring leaded glazing. The stucco detailing includes banded rustication to the ground floor and a first-floor window with a pediment resting on consoles at No. 89 (the left-hand villa). The porches both have panelled doors, with the porch of No. 89 featuring a moulded entablature and panelled pilasters, and the other porch displaying quoin rustication. The interiors have not been inspected, but are likely to be of interest. The villas relate to a group of other notable villas in the area.
