Description
These are a pair of semi-detached villas, built in the early 19th century on Liverpool Road, Islington. The buildings are constructed with stucco over brick, with hipped roofs covered in plain tiles and slate, featuring projecting eaves and party-wall stacks. They have sidehall entrances with staircases. Each villa stands three storeys high and has a basement, with three windows on each floor. One bay is set back. The ground floors are rendered and rusticated, with round-arched openings topped with keystones. Sash windows with curved and radiating glazing bars are set within recessed panels. The original doorways have been replaced with windows to create new entrances in the section of infill now between the two villas. The first floor has a sill band below full-length, square-headed, recessed architraved sash windows, each with a bracketed cornice and incised apron panels. The second floor windows are also architraved and square-headed.
