Description
These are a pair of semi-detached villas located on Liverpool Road, Islington, dating to the early 19th century. They are constructed of stucco over brickwork with hipped roofs covered in plain tiles and slate, featuring projecting eaves supported by brackets and party-wall stacks. Each villa has side-hall entrances leading to a staircase, and they stand three storeys high with basements, each displaying three windows. The entrance bay is set back. The ground floors are rendered and rusticated, with round-arched openings topped with keystones. The windows are sash windows with curved and radiating glazing bars within recessed panels. Steps lead to the doorways, which have columned jambs supporting corniced heads and include radiating fanlights above original panelled doors. A sill band runs beneath the full-length, square-headed, recessed architraved sash windows on the first floor, each with bracketed cornices and incised apron panels. The second floor also has architraved, square-headed sash windows.
