Description
14 and 16 Furlong Road are semi-detached villas built around 1830. They feature stucco over brick and have roofs made of Welsh and artificial slate. The design includes a side hall entrance with a staircase, and both villas are two stories tall with basements and attics, each having three windows. The entrance bay is set back, and the ground floors are rusticated with a raised appearance and a sill band beneath round-arched openings. The windows are recessed sash types with curved and radiating glazing bars set in panelled recesses. Steps lead up to the doorway, which has original twin-panelled doors and a radiating fanlight with original glazing bars. The first floors are finished in plain stucco with a storey band beneath a hipped roof that has projecting eaves and stuccoed stacks in the center wall, along with dormers.
