Description

Numbers 18 and 20 are semi-detached villas built around 1830. They feature stucco over brick and have hipped roofs made of Welsh and artificial slate, with projecting eaves and stucco centre stacks. The design includes a side-hall entrance plan with a staircase, and both villas are three storeys high with a basement and attic in number 20 only. Each villa has three windows. The ground floor is rusticated stucco with imitation keystones and a sill band at the first floor. Steps lead up to the entrance, which is located in a recessed outer bay. The doorway is architraved with cornices, pilaster jambs, and a fanlight that has curved and radial glazing bars, along with a panelled door. The ground floor features round-arched architraved sashes with similar curved and radial glazing bars. The first floor has a sill band for the sashes, which are topped with a bracketed cornice. The villas are complemented by attached iron railings.
