Description
The gate piers and garden walls to Cambridge Lodge were built around the 1850s and are contemporary with the lodge itself. They are constructed from local grey limestone rubble, featuring irregular toothed capping, while the gate piers are rendered with cement. The walls enclose the garden located to the south of the house and include an archway with a brick arch that opens onto Old Torwood Road. On the eastern side, there is a pair of octagonal gate piers topped with low, oversailing pyramidal caps. Cambridge Lodge is noted as a rare example of a smaller villa in Torquay that retains its original garden, and it is paired with Grey House. These features contribute to the overall group value of the site.
