Description

A pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century are located on the west side of Marlborough Road, Swindon. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a stone slate roof, featuring two hipped dormers, and a stack on the party wall. The cottages are two storeys and have an attic. Number 22 has a central entrance with rooms on either side, while number 24 is a single-bay cottage with a left-hand entrance passage. Original beaded panel and plank doors are set within dowelled frames. The windows are 12-pane timber casements to both floors, each set beneath a square stone lintel. An ammonite fossil is incorporated into the centre of the building's elevation.
