Description
A pair of cottages located on the west side of East Street, Corfe Castle, likely originating in the 17th century or earlier. The buildings are constructed of rubble stone with thatched roofs and a brick stack positioned near the centre. They are one storey high with an attic. Number 90 features a ledged door and a 20th-century casement window set beneath a brick arch on the ground floor. The attic of number 90 has two dormers, each containing a casement window with a central horizontal bar. Number 92 also has a ledged door and a casement window with a centre horizontal bar on its ground floor. Its attic is similarly characterised by two dormers with matching casement windows. The cottages may have originally been a single open-hall house, and the dormers appear to be later insertions. These are now owned and managed by the National Trust.
