Description

Nos. 98 and 100 East Street are a pair of cottages that form part of a terrace, likely built in the early 19th century, although they may have earlier origins. The cottages feature rubble stone walls and slate roofs, with one shared brick chimney stack and an additional stack at the left end of No. 100. They are two storeys high. Each cottage has a 20th-century battened door set beneath a brick arch. On the ground floor, there is one stone mullioned window with lead lights and one casement window; the casement for No. 98 has cast iron glazing, while No. 100's casement has glazing bars. On the first floor, both cottages have two casement windows, with No. 98's casements featuring cast iron glazing and No. 100's having glazing bars, all positioned under brick arches.
