Description
These are a pair of cottages located on Penistone High Street, dating from the early 19th century. They are built of coursed, squared stone with stone slate roofs, though the left-hand roof is covered in bitumen. The cottages are three storeys high and one bay wide each. Each cottage has an entrance on the right side, featuring a quoined surround and a deep lintel, alongside a three-light flat-faced mullion window. Similar four-light windows are present on the first and second floors. At the rear, there are paired windows. Number 104 has a ground floor addition which isn't of particular architectural interest. The upper storey of number 106 displays exposed bonding stones on the left side, suggesting a planned addition. The right-hand gable has a coping with a cut kneeler. Two stone stacks are visible.
