Description

This 18th-century milestone is built into the north wall of the churchyard on Church Street in Penistone. It is a monolithic pillar with a rounded top and flat faces. The front of the milestone features inscribed serifed lettering that reads "SHEFFIELD/13/MILES," and there is a later bench mark at the top.
