Description
This is a former hall, now divided into two dwellings, dating back to the 17th century, with later 19th-century alterations and 20th-century restoration work. The building is constructed of deeply-coursed, squared stone, with thinly-coursed rubble to the rear, and the right side is rendered. It has a stone slate roof. Originally arranged with three rooms, the front facade presents three gabled bays, with the bay to the left slightly lower and projecting forward. Most of the windows are from the 19th century, with the exception of a small, double-chamfered window in each of the right two gables. A central doorway is flanked by slender lights, and a tripartite window features in the left bay. The right bay has two 4-pane sash windows at ground-floor level, and a single 4-pane sash window in each bay at first-floor level, all with a continuous dripmould above to the two right bays. The gables have hollow-chamfered copings sitting on moulded kneelers. There are two ashlar ridge stacks and one to the rear gable of the right bays. The rear features three gabled bays, with the left bay projecting forward. A 20th-century single-storey addition is present on the left wing, along with a first-floor fire-window. The two wings to the right contain a 20th-century central doorway, with a 3-light, double-chamfered window on either side. A round-arched 19th-century staircase window is positioned to the left, and a single 4-light double-chamfered window (with 20th-century mullions) to the right. Octagonal and quatrefoil windows are located in the apexes of the two right gables. A single-storey 20th-century addition to the right is not considered to be of particular interest.
