Description

Nether Mill House is a farmhouse dating back to 1636, with later additions from the 18th century and 20th century. It is rendered with a stone slate roof. The original design was a two-room baffle/lobby entry plan, with two rear wings and a single-bay addition from the 18th century to the left. Quoins are visible on the exterior. The central doorway has a chamfered, quoined surround and a Tudor-arched lintel inscribed with "TE + 1636 JM". There are four-light double-chamfered windows to each side, with later doorways to the left and right. A seven-light double-chamfered window with a king mullion is located on the first floor. The 18th-century addition to the left features two-light flat-faced mullion windows on both floors, and its eaves are slightly raised. A central ashlar stack is present, along with a gable stack to the left. The rear of the property includes a single-storey outshut to the left, a central single-storey gabled wing, and a two-storey wing to the right, with a separate roof, which has been largely altered. A 20th-century addition is not considered to be of special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected.
