Description

This milestone, located on the north-east side of the junction with Bank Lane, dates from the late 18th century and is made of gritstone. It is a square pillar that stands approximately 0.75 meters high. Each face of the milestone features inscriptions indicating the distances to various towns: Rotherham 8 miles, Huddersfield 15 miles, Manchester 26 miles, and Sheffield 7 miles.
