Description
Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century addition. It is built from deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone and features stone slate roofs. The house has two storeys and two windows on the first floor, with a contemporary wing at the rear right and a later single-storey addition on the right that includes a door and window.
The main range has a 20th-century part-glazed door set in a bonded ashlar surround. To the right, there is a three-light window with a square-faced surround and one mullion, while a two-light window to the left and those above have similar surrounds but no mullions, featuring 20th-century casements. The end stacks are rebuilt in brick. The addition on the right has a part-glazed door to the left of a casement window and a brick end stack on the right. The building is included for its group value.
