Description

These low rubble walls with Plymouth limestone coping are accompanied by cast-iron railings, dating from circa 1827. The railings feature arrow-head shafts and turned finials to the stanchions. At number 8, there is a wide gateway with square, square-on-plan Plymouth limestone ashlar piers framing cast-iron gates. The gates have a braced bottom rail, arched heads between the shafts, arrow-head finials above the lock rail, and a top rail. The walls and railings relate to a group of villas designed by Foulston and are notable for their group value.
