Description
Owl's Cottage Cafe/Restaurant is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. Originally built in the 17th century, it has been altered and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features roughcast walls and a double Roman tile roof, following a former cross passage plan. It has two storeys and three windows on the front. All windows are 19th-century casements, either two or three lights, with 20th-century ornamental shutters. On the ground floor, there are three windows and a door located off-centre to the right, which is sheltered by a 20th-century mock rustic porch. Above, there are two additional windows. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension added in the 20th century. Inside, the restaurant showcases deep stopped chamfered beams throughout. There is a winder stair with solid oak treads located in a semi-circular stair turret, which features a square single light window.
