Description
2 and 3 Church Lane is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It has origins dating back to the 17th century or early 18th century, with an early 19th-century refronting. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a tiled roof with brick stacks. It stands three storeys high and features a four-window range. At the top, there is a modillioned brick cornice.
The entrance is located to the left of the centre and has a segmental-pointed head with a door that has strap hinges. To the right of the centre, there is another entrance with a segmental head. The ground floor has segmental-headed windows, including a 4-light casement at the left end, a 3-light casement, and two 2-light casements at the right end. The first floor has similar windows arranged in a pattern of 3:2:3:2 lights, while the second floor features 2-light and 3-light casements, along with end canted timber oriels that have hipped roofs under gables with wide verges. There is a stack at the left end and another on the roof slope. The rear of the building has later additions.
Inside, the property features chamfered beams and joists.
