Description
Holme Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Lower Norton Lane in Kewstoke. The building features a roughcast render exterior with pantiles and double Roman tiles, and it is designed in an L-plan with extensions. It has two storeys and four windows, which are fitted with 20th-century casements. The ground floor openings are adorned with hoodmoulds and moulded lintels. There is an off-centre left plank door set in a stopped ovolo moulded frame, which is sheltered by a 20th-century lean-to glazed porch.
The eastern return elevation includes an end gable and a former gabled wing, featuring two storeys and two windows, all with hood moulds and moulded lintels. One of the windows is a three-light 19th-century replacement, while the others are two- or three-light ovolo moulded mullion leaded casements with stays intact. Inside, the farmhouse boasts stopped chamfered beams and inglenook fireplaces. In the east bedroom, there is a plaster overmantel that is dated 1660.
