Description
Norton Court Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse situated on Lower Norton Lane in Kewstoke. The building is constructed of rubble and has a pantile and double Roman tile roof. It features a cross passage plan with a slightly lower service end, and has been extended. The two-storey facade has six windows, all 3-light casements from the 19th and 20th centuries, with French windows at each end of the ground floor. The central recessed entrance has a plain rendered surround. A single-storey dairy wing projects to the west. At the rear, single-storey extensions do not conceal a gabled stair turret which has a 2-light mullion window with ovolo moulding. The interior includes a blocked fireplace with a stopped chamfered lintel and shelf, and deep chamfered beams with scroll stops. A winder stair is located within the turret, featuring solid oak treads and a small 2-light window.
