Description

Chestnut Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with an 18th-century extension and roof. It is constructed of roughcast rubble with a slate roof and raised coped verges. The south elevation has two storeys and an attic, and features five windows, all 19th and 20th-century casements. The central three windows are in a taller block, and to the left is a semi-circular stair turret. At the rear is a two-and-a-half storey wing. A good plank door with an ovolo-moulded front is located in the re-entrant angle, alongside two ground-floor windows with ovolo-moulded frames and one attic window. The interior includes an inglenook with a deep chamfered bressumer, and stopped, chamfered beams throughout the ground and first floors.
