Description

This is a fragment of an early to mid-17th century farmhouse, now used as an outhouse. It is located immediately west of Puxton Moor Farmhouse. The building is constructed of rendered rubble with a pantile roof, and features a central stack. A lobby entrance is present. The building is two storeys high. The south gable end has a range of 19th-century casement windows. The north gable end has a 4-light chamfered oak mullion window on the ground floor, a 19th-century 4-light casement window on the first floor, and a blocked garret window above. There are two doors in the east elevation; the right-hand door has a moulded frame and strap hinges, and the left-hand door has mid-18th century panelling. The south room internally has a deep chamfered cross beam ceiling. A doorway leading to the first floor south room has a stopped ovolo surround. A gable end fireplace, originally with a cambered head wooden lintol and a carved panel above, has been removed to the main farmhouse. The northern section of the building has a 20th-century roof.
