Description
Higher Moorbath Cottage is a single cottage that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. It features rubble stone walls with some areas of render and a thatched roof with stone gable copings. There are brick stacks at both the left and right gables. The cottage has two storeys and an unheated central room. It has between four and five windows, which are wooden casements with two and three lights, some of which retain glazing bars. A stone label is present above the right ground window, and wooden lintels are used throughout. The front door is located to the left of centre, set in a doorway with straight-chamfered jambs and a Tudor-arch head made from a large block, dating from the 17th century. The door itself is a plank door from the 20th century. On the north gable wall, there are two 2-light stone-mullion windows, which feature hollow-chamfers and labels.
