Description

The Lilacs is a single cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century and recent restoration. It features stone walls that are rendered and washed, topped with a thatch roof that has gable ends and block ridging. There are rendered stacks at both the left and right gables. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows, which are wooden three-light casements that have been renewed. There are two doors facing the street: one is centrally located and made of wood with 18th-century recessed panelling consisting of four panels; the other is to the right of centre and is a 20th-century door with many small glass panels. Inside, there is an 18th-century fireplace with brick jambs and a wooden lintel above.
