Description
Old Warren Cottage is a single cottage dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century extension. It features rubble-stone walls and a cob wall at the rear. The thatch roof has a catslide and a roof over the east end, with a half-hip over the west end. There is one brick stack at the right-hand gable. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has approximately three windows, which are three-light wooden casements with glazing bars, wooden lintels, and cills, along with old hinges. There is one dormer with leaded lights, also from the 17th century. The front door is positioned to the right of centre and is accompanied by a 20th-century glass and concrete porch. Inside, there is a fireplace with tongued stops to the lintel and a bread oven on the left side. A half-spiral wooden stair is located between the fireplace jamb and the front door, which has a plank doorcase. The ceiling beam is roughly chamfered.
