Description
The barn at Manor Farm dates back to around 1500 and features a core structure with a roof that was renewed in the 20th century. It is built from Lias stone and has a plain tile roof with gable ends. The stone gable copings are topped with crocketed finials. The barn has large doors at the front, with a projecting pier on the left side that supports a pentice tile roof. The right pier has been removed due to a brick extension that added cow-sheds. There is a pointed arch doorway, which is straight-chamfered, located towards the right end of the south wall, featuring a plank door with ornamental hinges. The barn also has a lozenge pattern of square dovecote holes with ledges. On the west gable wall, there are stone buttresses with set offs. Inside, raised cruck-posts are embedded in the wall by the barn doors. The roof structure was replaced in the 1930s and includes a tie-beam with king posts and diagonal struts.
