Description
This is a detached barn located 40 metres south of Harvard Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It features rubble-stone walls and has a square projecting porch at the centre of the north side, with loose-boxes on either side. The barn has a slate roof that is hipped at the ends and extends continuously over the loose-boxes. There are sliding metal doors at the opposing entrances, which were added in the 20th century.
Inside, the roof construction consists of hammer-beam and collar construction, with diagonal braces supporting the hammer-beams. The barn has four trusses arranged in three bays and includes two sets of butted through-purlins. This barn is comparable to the one at Liberty Farm in Halstock.
