Description
The Green is a late 17th century building located on Cowgrove Road in Pamphill. It features timber-framed walls with brick infill and a thatched roof, along with a brick stack. The house is one storey with an attic and has a lean-to extension on the southwest with brick walls. The extension is partially plastered and has a thatched catslide hipped roof.
On the front elevation, the ground floor has three casement windows with glazing bars, while the attic includes one similar window under the eaves. The entrance is located in the rear wall, featuring a part-glazed door beneath a modern hood. The ground floor also has three casement windows with glazing bars, and the attic has two dormers with casements that have lead lights, which appear to be modern. Inside, there are some chamfered ceiling beams. This house may have originated as an open-hall.
