Description
No. 553 on Cowgrove Road is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features brick walls and has asbestos slate-hanging on the west gable wall, along with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The structure is two storeys high and includes a lean-to garage on the east side, which is weather-boarded and has a slate roof. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to that is part-glazed and constructed from concrete blocks. A modern glazed timber porch with a gabled tiled roof has been added to the front. The ground floor has two casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, while the first floor features two casement windows with lead lights.
