Description

No. 228 on Piccadilly Lane is a building that likely dates from the 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The structure features walls made of brick and stone, topped with gable parapets. It has a thatched roof and a brick chimney stack. The south gable wall is constructed of stone and has been raised in brick. The main elevation includes a part-glazed ledged door, and both the ground and first floors have two casement windows with central glazing bars. At the north end, there is a later single-storey lean-to with plastered walls and an asbestos roof. Inside, some ceiling beams on the ground floor are exposed, and there is evidence of a large open fireplace in the south wall, which has been partly built up.
