Description
No. 226 on High Street is a building with origins dating back to the 18th century. It features brick walls, a thatched roof, and brick stacks. The structure is one storey high with an attic. A later addition at the rear has brick end walls that are plastered and also a thatched roof. There is a single-storey extension at the back of the main block, which has glazed walls and a flat roof, along with a modern part-glazed flush door.
On the ground floor, there are two casement windows with glazing bars, while the attic includes three dormers with similar casements. One of the ground floor rooms contains a large open fireplace with a timber lintel, which has been partially built up. An adjacent space may have served as a curing chamber.
