Description
Firs Farmhouse is a building likely originating in the 18th century, with enlargements and alterations made in the 19th century and more recently. The rear wing, which serves as the current kitchen, is probably part of the original 18th-century structure. A large front range was added at a right angle to this, featuring plastered walls, a thatched roof, and brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high, with a wide flat-roofed porch that includes a part-glazed door. The ground floor has five modern double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, and the first floor has five similar windows. The rear wing has brick walls and a thatched roof, is one storey with attics, and includes a single-storey lean-to with a slate roof along the west side. There is a modern garage extension at the rear. Inside the ground floor of the rear wing, there is one deep chamfered ceiling beam, and a large chimney stack with a built-up fireplace.
