Description
Court Cottage is a late 16th century to early 17th century building with timber-framed walls that are plastered, although the end part has been refaced or rebuilt in brick. It features a thatched roof with a parapet on the south gable and a brick stack. The cottage is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of two storeys and an attic.
The gable end facing the road has two modern casement windows on the ground floor, while the first floor boasts an original oriel window with moulded oak mullions and lead lights. The attic also has a similar flat window with lead lights. On the west elevation, the ground floor includes two casement windows with lead lights, one modern casement window, and a blocked door. The first floor has one casement window with lead lights. The east elevation features a modern door, with one metal casement window on the ground floor and two casement windows on the first floor—one with a moulded mullion and the other with the mullion removed.
Inside, the stairs leading to the first floor have heavily moulded balusters at the landing. The first floor contains some early panelled doors in original oak frames with cambered heads.
