Description

The Flying Rat is an early 17th century house located in Broxted. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a half hipped thatched roof. The building has one storey and attics, with a three bay and chimney bay plan. There are three windows, which include 19th century and modern casements, along with one gabled dormer that has a 17th century casement. The house is adorned with red brick chimney stacks. A later thatched extension is present at the south end, and there is a lean-to extension at the rear that is partly tiled.
