Description
1 and 2 Chartknolle Cottages are two attached cottages dating from the early 19th century. They feature dressed stone walls and a slate roof with gable ends. The cottages have three brick chimneys located at the left-hand gable, right of centre, and the right-hand gable. The buildings are two storeys high, with three windows on the left cottage and two on the right. The windows are three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, and there is one iron casement on the ground floor of the right cottage.
The front doors are positioned with number 1 at the centre, featuring wide planks and a wooden frame, while number 2 is left of centre and has a similar design with one glass light. Attached to the front of the cottages are garden railings on a stone sleeper wall, made of cast iron with trefoil heads and lower alternating spearheads. There are two gates with urn finials framing the narrow openings at the main divisions, and each gate is accessed by two stone steps.
