Description

NETHER COMPTON ST 5816-5916 COMPTON PARK 14/56 Keeper's Cottage 31.7.61 GV II Detached cottage, Mid C19. Dressed stone walls, with moulded cornice and crenellated parapet. Clay-tile roofs, hipped. Stone stacks at each end of ridge. 2½ storeys. S windows, two-light windows and Y-tracery in a pointed head. Single glass panes and one small iron casement to each window. 3 gabled half-dormers, outer are blind with same tracery design. Central half-dormer is glazed. Tall finials terminating in crosses, at corners of parapets and on gabled dormers. Doors, at left, centre and right. Left: plank-and-muntin door with strap-hinges, C19. Centre and right are C20 two-leaf doors with glazing bars, C20, using Y-tracery motif in head.
