Description

The archway in Compton Park is a free-standing structure that has been re-erected in the park. It is built from 14th-century materials that have been reused. The side walls are made of rubble stone and feature a blind tracery window on the west side. The archway has straight-chamfered jambs and a pointed-arch head, characteristic of the 14th century. Above the arch, there is a keeled label with head-stops. Additionally, there is a 19th-century iron gate.
