Description

OVER COMPTON ST 5816-5916 THE DRIVE 14/105 Walling and Doorway immediately opposite 31.7.61 Chipman's Lodge GV II

Walling and Doorway. Late C19, with C14 reset material. Dressed stone wall with an ashlar crenellated stone parapet, running for 10 metres. Ashlar stone niche with a semi-circular head either side of the central doorway. Each with a stone griffin. Doorway has moulded stone jambs and a heavily-cusped two-centred head. Trefoils in the spandrels. Heavy returned label over.
