Description
This is a wall with a doorway that connects the Stable Block in Lodge Yard to The Lodge. The wall dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, while the doorway was added in 1802. The wall was built for John Pratt, and the doorway was created for Joseph Lodge. It is made of rubble with an ashlar doorway. The wall is approximately 30 meters long, running north from the northeast corner of The Lodge to the southwest corner of the stable block, and stands about 2 meters high, featuring stepped slab coping. The board door, located near the southernmost end of the wall, provides access to The Lodge and is set in a round-arched ashlar surround with impost jambs, imposts, and a tripartite keystone.
