Description
The House and Shop of Mr and Mrs Hunt is a building dated 1770, located on Main Street in Askrigg. It features coursed rubble construction and a stone slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has two first-floor windows. The central entrance consists of leaved doors set within a round-arched architrave, supported by plinths with imposts and a tripartite keystone inscribed with "WT 1770". This entrance is flanked by 20th-century plate-glass square bay windows. To the right of the central doors, there is a four-panel door also within a round-arched architrave on plinths with imposts and a tripartite keystone. The building includes sash windows with glazing bars, all set in architraves, and features a stack at the end right.
