Description
Skeldale House, along with its railings, is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built from coursed watershot rubble and has a stone slate roof, complemented by cast-iron railings. The building stands three storeys high and features three bays. The central entrance consists of a leaved six-panel door set within an ashlar Tuscan doorcase, topped with a blocking course. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars and marginal panes, situated beneath deep ashlar lintels. There is a sill band on the first floor and tripled gutter brackets, along with ashlar copings and end stacks. In front of the house, there is a low ashlar plinth supporting the railings, which are adorned with spear finials. The property is noted for its group value.
