Description
Church View, located to the north of Sykes's House in Askrigg, is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and stands three storeys high, featuring two first-floor windows. The building has a plinth and quoins on the left side. On the right, there is a part-glazed four-panel door beneath a moulded lintel, which has a keystone inscribed with "1745". The ground and first floors have four-pane sash windows, while the second floor features smaller four-pane sashes. Continuous drip-moulds run above the ground and first floors, except for the centre of the ground floor where a former doorway has been blocked. There is an end stack on the left side. The building is included for its group value.
