Description
Church View is a cottage dated 1687, with later alterations, built for Thomas Forster. It is constructed of rubble and has a stone slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high and features two first-floor windows. The central door, which is part-glazed and from the 20th century, is set in an ashlar quoined moulded surround. This surround has a lintel that displays a motif of two semicircular niches and recessed panels with raised lettering that reads "16 F T A 87". To the left of the door, there is a boarded door below a four-pane overlight, which is situated beneath a very deep lintel. The windows are sash style, and there are end stacks. This building is included for its group value.
