Description
The Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has undergone later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with an artificial stone slate roof and has two storeys with two first-floor windows. Originally, it served as the low end of West End House. The central entrance features a four-panel door set beneath a deep and wide chamfered lintel. On the ground floor, there are four-pane sash windows below slab lintels, while the first floor has four-pane sash windows in double-chamfered stone surrounds, with the window to the right originally being wider. There is a stack at the right end of the building. On the right side, the first floor features a blocked two-light chamfered mullion window and a single-light window to the left. The interior includes what was once the through-passage behind the main fireplace of West End House.
