Description

This former pump, built in 1849 by Leonard Hesletine, a mason from Askrigg, is constructed from ashlar stone. It has a circular plan featuring a chamfered base and a shaft that includes a wrought-iron handle and a scar where the spout was located. The top of the pump is finished with a cap that has a knob finial. This structure is included for its group value.
